VRC Competition
Tipping Point
VRC Competition: Welcome
Tipping Point is played on a 12 ft by 12 ft field. In Tipping Point, two alliances of two teams - Red and Blue - play against each another. The objective of the game is to obtain as many points by scoring rings on goals, moving the goals to alliance zones, and elevating on platforms. To score points on a goal, the goal must either be a team's own goal or a neutral goal in the team's alliance zone. Rings can be scored in the goals or on their branches. Also, balancing goals and robots on the alliance platforms can get a team extra points.
Each match starts out with a 15 second autonomous period, followed by 1 minute and 45 seconds of driver control.
Teams also compete in Robot Skills, where they score as many points as possible by themselves in one minute matches. Robot skills consist of driver control and autonomous matches.
Scoring:
Each ring scored on a neutral mobile goal high branch = 10 points
Each ring scored on any other mobile goal branch = 3 points
Each ring scored in a mobile goal base = 1 point
Each mobile goal scored in an alliance home zone = 20 points
Each robot that is elevated = 30 points
Each mobile goal that is elevated = 40 points
One ring scored on each alliance mobile goal and a cleared AWP line in autonomous = 1 win point
